As advances are made in 'electrical goods' efficiency our society encourages a higher turnover of top of the range gadgets. In terms of electrical products the worst offenders are products such as TVs and computers that, in the average home are left on standby for long periods. 

The average plasma TV typically uses 4 times as much energy as the traditional cathode ray tube. This results in a whopping 350kg of CO2 and an extra £100 on top of the average electricity bill.

In the animal kingdom red is a signal of danger, lets return to this way of thinking, if you see the red light there is something wrong. Don't be a mug, turn it off at the plug.
